I like the change a lot. It does as you say help team raise their heads looking farther than the next sprint. Even to the pole star as you say :)

Puts the focus on achieving an outcome rather than an output for the current sprint and allows the question. Will this help us achieve the overall goal.

Would be very interesting to learn more on your view on OKR's. Especially the relation between an OKR and a user story.
